You’ve tried everything you can think of to feel better, but nothing’s sticking.

Maybe you’ve been to therapy before, but feel frustrated with the results. You’re still struggling to move past difficult memories, and it feels like no amount of traditional talk therapy is going to ease the pain. That’s where EMDR, or eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, can often be life-changing. Working on a neurological level, it can help reduce the disturbance level of troubling or traumatic memories, and replace negative, self-defeating cognitions with more adaptive and positive thoughts.

EMDR therapy can help lessen the vividness of traumatic memories, while also addressing negative beliefs that may be contributing to symptoms.

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an evidence-based form of psychotherapy that helps clients recover from a myriad of symptoms. It utilizes bilateral stimulation (typically eye movements or handheld “tappers”) to help lessen the vividness of traumatic memories, while also addressing negative beliefs that may be contributing to symptoms.

  • EMDR is much more than eye movements or hand “tappers.” Prior to starting the processing itself, you’ll learn critical grounding and resourcing skills, and we’ll begin to map out past memories. We’ll identify which neural pathways they live within, what negative messaging may be linked to these memories, and what more adaptive thought patterns might look like.

  • EMDR can help reduce the vividness or disturbance level of traumatic memories, as well as help you view the memories through the lens of your own strength and resiliency.

What clients are saying…

Clients have often described that, after EMDR therapy, the painful memories are still there, but appear farther away and no longer have the same power or hold over them.

Whatever it is that you’re experiencing, relief is possible.
